SAVR FAQs
Quick answers to the most common questions about setting up and using your SAVR TPMS.
Setting up for the first time?
Our Setup Guide will walk you through adding your vehicle, pairing your sensors and getting them fitted.
Setup & Pairing
How do I pair a SAVR 2 Sensor Pack?
Use One-Click Pairing.
When prompted in the SAVR app, select One-Click Pairing and scan the pairing QR code supplied with your 2 Sensor Pack.
Both sensors will be added automatically.
How do I pair a SAVR 4 Sensor Pack?
Use One-Click Pairing.
Select One-Click Pairing in the app and scan the pairing QR code supplied with your 4 Sensor Pack.
All four sensors will be added automatically.
What is One-Click Pairing?
One-Click Pairing lets you add all of the sensors from a complete SAVR 2 Sensor Pack or 4 Sensor Pack at once.
Simply scan the pairing QR code supplied with your pack and SAVR adds the sensors for you.
What is Scan Pair?
Scan Pair is used when you're adding or replacing an individual sensor.
Select the wheel position in the app, choose Scan Pair, then scan the barcode on the sensor you want to assign to that wheel.
Do I pair the sensors through my phone's Bluetooth settings?
No.
SAVR sensors are added from inside the SAVR app. You do not need to find or pair them from your Bluetooth settings.
Just make sure Bluetooth is turned on and SAVR has permission to use it.
Can I add another sensor later?
Yes.
Use Scan Pair to add an individual sensor and assign it to the wheel position you want to monitor.
What if I replace a sensor?
Use Scan Pair to assign the replacement sensor to the appropriate wheel position.
Profiles & Towing
What is a profile?
A profile represents a vehicle you want SAVR to monitor.
For example, you might have separate profiles for your car, caravan, boat trailer and motorcycle.
Each profile remembers its own sensors and settings.
How should I set up my tow vehicle and caravan?
Add your tow vehicle and caravan as separate profiles.
For example:
- Ford Ranger
- Jayco Caravan
When you're towing, make both profiles active. SAVR will bring the wheels from both profiles together on your Dashboard.
Can I have more than one profile active at the same time?
Yes.
This is particularly useful when towing.
Make your tow vehicle and trailer profiles active and SAVR will show the wheels from both on the Dashboard.
What does Active mean?
An Active profile is a vehicle you currently want displayed and monitored on your Dashboard.
You can have one or more profiles active at the same time.
What should I do when I'm not towing?
Simply make your trailer or caravan profile inactive.
It remains saved in SAVR, including its sensors and settings, ready for the next time you tow.
Do I need to pair my caravan sensors every time I tow?
No.
Once your caravan profile and sensors have been set up, SAVR remembers them.
When you're ready to tow again, simply make the caravan profile active.
Can I save several different vehicles?
Yes.
You can create separate profiles for the vehicles and trailers you want SAVR to remember, then activate the ones you're using.
Installing Your Sensors
How do I fit a SAVR sensor?
- Remove the existing valve cap.
- Screw the supplied anti-theft nut onto the valve stem.
- Screw the SAVR sensor onto the valve stem by hand until snug.
- Hold the sensor firmly and tighten the anti-theft nut back against the sensor using the supplied tool.
Do not use a tool to tighten the sensor itself.
How tight should I screw the sensor on?
Hand-tight is enough.
Screw the sensor onto the valve until it is snug and secure. Do not use pliers or another tool to tighten the sensor itself.
Why does a little air escape when I fit the sensor?
A brief release of air while the sensor is being screwed onto the valve can be normal.
Continue screwing the sensor on by hand until it is snug.
If air continues escaping after the sensor has been fitted, remove it and check the valve and sensor installation before driving.
What does the anti-theft nut do?
The anti-theft nut helps secure the sensor to the valve stem.
Screw the nut onto the valve first, fit the sensor, then tighten the nut back against the sensor using the supplied tool.
Why isn't my sensor showing a pressure reading before I fit it?
The sensor wakes when it is screwed onto the tyre valve.
Fit the sensor to the correct wheel position and give the app a moment to detect its pressure reading.
Using SAVR
Do I need to keep Bluetooth turned on?
Yes.
SAVR uses Bluetooth to receive information from your tyre sensors, so Bluetooth needs to remain enabled while you're monitoring your tyres.
Does SAVR work when my phone is locked?
SAVR is designed to continue monitoring while the app is running in the background or your phone is locked.
Make sure SAVR has the Bluetooth and notification permissions it requests so it can operate correctly.
Do I need to leave the SAVR app open on the screen?
No.
SAVR is designed to continue monitoring in the background, so you don't need to keep the Dashboard permanently open on your phone.
Why does SAVR need notification permission?
Notifications allow SAVR to alert you when something needs your attention.
We recommend allowing notifications so you don't miss important tyre alerts.
Can I use SAVR with a motorcycle?
Yes.
Create a motorcycle profile and add the sensors for the wheels you want to monitor.
A SAVR 2 Sensor Pack can be added using One-Click Pairing.
Can I use SAVR on a trailer without monitoring my car?
Yes.
Create a separate trailer profile and make that profile active when you want to monitor it.
Pressure & Alerts
What tyre pressure should I use?
SAVR monitors your tyre pressures, but it does not determine the correct pressure for your particular vehicle or tyre.
Use the tyre pressures recommended by your vehicle, caravan, trailer or tyre manufacturer.
If you're unsure, speak with your tyre professional.
Should tyre pressure be checked when tyres are cold?
Manufacturer tyre pressures are generally based on cold tyre pressures.
Tyre pressure normally rises as tyres warm while driving, so don't be surprised if the pressure displayed by SAVR increases during a trip.
Why does my tyre pressure increase while driving?
Tyres generate heat while driving and the air inside them warms up.
As the tyre temperature rises, tyre pressure will normally rise as well.
SAVR lets you monitor those changes while you're travelling.
Does SAVR replace normal tyre checks?
No.
SAVR gives you ongoing tyre pressure monitoring, but you should still visually inspect your tyres and regularly check their condition, valves and pressures as part of normal vehicle maintenance.
Problems & Troubleshooting
One of my sensors isn't showing a pressure reading. What should I do?
First check that:
- The sensor is fitted to the correct tyre.
- The sensor is screwed fully onto the valve by hand.
- Bluetooth is turned on.
- SAVR has permission to use Bluetooth.
If it still isn't appearing, visit our Troubleshooting page for more detailed help.
View TroubleshootingI paired the wrong sensor to a wheel. Can I fix it?
Yes.
You can update the sensor assigned to that wheel position and use Scan Pair to scan the correct sensor.
