SAVR App Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 Aug 2026

This policy explains what the SAVR TPMS app collects, why, and what control you have over it.

The app is published by SAVR Pty Ltd (ABN 69 645 533 642) ("we", "us", "our"). We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This policy covers the SAVR app only. For our website, online store and general business dealings, see https://safetysam.au/policies/privacy-policy.

The short version

The app exists to show you live tyre pressure and temperature from your SAVR sensors. It does that on your phone, using Bluetooth. We collect very little, we do not track your driving, and we do not sell your information.

What the app collects

Sensor data. Pressure and temperature readings and the unique ID of each sensor you pair. Readings are received directly from your sensors over Bluetooth and shown live on your phone. The current version of the app does not build a history or store readings beyond what it needs to display your current tyre status and trigger alerts.

Vehicle setup. The vehicle type, axle configuration, tyre positions and pressure thresholds you enter during setup. Stored on your device.

Device and diagnostic data. Device model, operating system version, app version and crash reports. Used to fix bugs and improve reliability. This does not identify you personally.

Support correspondence. If you contact us through the app or by email, we keep the message and our reply.

Account details (only if you create one). If you choose to create an account to back up your setup or use the app across more than one phone, we collect your email address. The app works without an account.

What the app does not collect

  • We do not track or record your location, routes or trips.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, calendar or microphone.
  • We do not build advertising profiles or sell data to anyone.
  • We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act.

About location permission

On Android, the operating system requires apps to hold location permission in order to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. That is why the app may ask for it. We use it only to find and connect to your sensors. Your location is never recorded, stored or transmitted.

On iOS, the app asks for Bluetooth permission only.

Permissions we ask for

Permission Why
Bluetooth Connecting to and reading your SAVR sensors
Notifications Pressure and temperature alerts while you drive
Location (Android only) Required by Android to scan for Bluetooth sensors

Each permission is optional, but declining Bluetooth or notifications will stop the app working as intended.

Alerts and safety

The app is a monitoring aid, not a substitute for checking your tyres. Alerts depend on Bluetooth range, sensor battery and your phone being on. Always carry out normal pre-trip checks.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the app, and only as much as they need:

Provider Purpose
Apple and Google App distribution and crash reporting
[Backend provider] Account and setup backup, if you create an account
[Analytics / crash provider] Crash reporting and basic usage analytics

We may disclose information if required by Australian law, or to protect the safety of a person or our legal rights. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Overseas storage

Some providers store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the app you consent to this. We take reasonable steps to use providers with recognised security and privacy standards.

Security

Data held on your phone sits inside the app's protected storage. Where data is synced to an account, connections are encrypted and access is restricted to your account.

No system is perfect, but we take security seriously and will notify you and the OAIC if an eligible data breach occurs, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Keeping and deleting data

Your vehicle setup and paired sensor IDs live on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Live readings are not retained.

If you have created an account, you can delete it from Settings in the app. That permanently removes your account and any backed-up setup within 30 days.

Children

The app is not designed for or directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@savr.me and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we have handled a privacy issue, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

If you use the app from the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you also have rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR, including data portability and the right to object to processing. Use the same email address.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the app changes. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.

Some features planned for future releases, including paid features that keep a record of your tyre readings over time, will involve storing more data than we do today. We will update this policy and ask for your consent before any of that begins.
